26.09.2015 - 10.01.2016
COLOR MAD. Autochromes, the first color photographs of Switzerland (1907-1938)

The first color pictures of Switzerland are on display at the Musée gruérien of Bulle (Switzerland). The Autochrome plates were commercialized by Auguste and Louis Lumière - the inventors of the "cinematographe" - since 1907. The exhibition shows pictures from 30 Autochrome collections, particularly from the Musée gruérien and The Albert Kahn Museum in Paris. In an interactive room inspired by science museums, the visitors discover the first color photography techniques and the rules of the additive light synthesis. With the support of the swiss UNESCO Commission.
